Weapons!!

Hi Just a few quick questions on weapons,

Daggers - are these much better than bows?
why do archers so often use a shield? are we any good at tanking?
crossbows or bows?
i have a 1 handed gren daggers which seems to increase my dps to 70ish i think but my purple bow (lev 30) gives me 40dps? is this for real?

While daggers may be strong, Archers are made for ranged combat so tanking isn't recommend unless your willing to spam pots the whole way through the dungeon.

Ya, I agree with banned. After the evasion skill got nerfed to 30 seconds, most archers goes back to the tradiotional bow kiting method...

The solution here is to not play an Archer *wink wink* :P

But really, bows are the way to go... you chose Archer for a reason x.x

Actually to address Yourmum90's questions,

Daggers offer a higher damage rate as compared to bows, but the down side is you have to go in at melee range
1)this means monsters will be mobbing you
2)You have to run from monster to monster, alot more walking involved
3)Harder to kite.
4)On the plus side you can use a shield. (tho dex based shields only come available at lvl 20)

And no, archers are not good at tanking. Evasion and high dex is nice, but we are too fragile and a few good blows and you'll be having KFC for dinner.

Daggers are just as good. Your only problem is now you have to tank.

Sweet seems to answer the majority of the questions, just a same by 90dps weapon is a dagger. i have a crossbow which does quite a bit of damage 40dps.

Where would you find the level 30 best bow, crossbow etc.. and by best i mean highest dps?

Not only are archers not preferred tank's, but us Pure healers, it is a complete pain to keep this class healed, Especially through boss fights

P.S. Gotta hear from every perspective!

This whole thread is now irrelevant due to the changes in weaponry. Well, the ideas are the same but bows have been improved and daggers have been nerfed somewhat
