But even if they introduce the option to buy the elix for 100k or some other in-game currency or token, it would still be much expensive to run this event considering how many tokens you get per run. Even energy events are favorable over this one as energy can be farmed for free...

What is even the point of this event? The drops arent worth and the vanities are tradeable and theyre way cheaper for gold the locks are like 5k in auc theres nothing to farm this event its useless

Read my words closely. Pay to win is ok but pay to play is not. 2 week event that is only playable by using plat isn't a good move, 1 week we wouldn't care as much but 2 weeks..
Don't make your game pay to play please.
What I suggest on change is make elixirs nontradeable, you have a 10 plat elixir and a 100k gold elixir. I am fine if it costs to enter but make it gold accessable in a fair price. I understand we had marvelous free to enter the entire 1 week event.
Most games if they want to make money do a strat and honestly I spent money on a game because of this. They have gems as a secondary currency (costs money) which can allow you to buy items etc game is 100% free to play meaning 999+$ won't get you anywhere but they have bags for more inventory space you have to pay for. You don't need them but they help a ton so I spent 20$ and got them. Dungeon defenders 2.
Have something people don't have to have but they really want which makes game play easier and make it cost money. Its not pay to win or pay to play.

I couldn't agree more! I've been playing this game since the beginning and I always try to participate in most events which are fair for everyone to run. There's no way a plat only event can be good for the game. I didn't even do one run as there's no way to even get into the event without a plat lix.

Recent temple event was for the OP geared people and with my endless set barely making it to wave 10, it was just sit and cheer. The the marvelous event was good for those who had the time to do 2400 runs, it just wasn't really for me either. Now this beach event I was looking foward to, but again I'm sitting. Somethings just not right here!
