About the new Spirit Gear

I have seen the preview before and i am confused about the new spirit Gear, can someone explain me about it?

Cinco already said there will be arcanes lol. Just forget about trash spirit gears and wait for decent arcane gears

From what they said in the preview, in order to get the new spirit items, the current spirit items are needed since they'll work as a material to craft the new ones.
As any other update on gears, the weapons will lose awakes and are most like likely to get their lvl back to lvl1.
I would say try to get em slowly, Spirit gear may not be the best but may have good utility procs to speed up gameplay.

As of now(as it says in the preview somewhere) we will not be using current spirit gear to craft the upcoming spirit items. At first that was the idea but it was reconsidered.
