To be fair, I don't think anyone could tell if your intention was to joke or insult or simply fulfilling the request of the OP who might actually be joking.

I agreed, it seems you are almost always targeted whenever people have a chance. Maybe don't give them that chance if this actually bothers you?

Chances are, not everyone is as selfish as you make them to be. Those who are well off, have extra time aside from work, have a higher tendency to help people whenever they can.

I didn’t laugh at the joke, but there is no way the people defending the OP didn’t find this even a bit funny. A post telling someone to ask you a question, while they asked a question is pretty funny. A joke or 2 may have been posted, but no insults were thrown until you guys fuel and fire by defending someone who didn’t need to be defended.
