    Default Pvp aps: Festerfang

    For the pvp aps, as far as I understand, it is supposed to be an achievement point for killing someone in pvp, ideally demonstrating skills and strategy.

    However, recently people discussed about how dummy or kill farming totally negates the point of this aps, so I was thinking why not we remove it and replace it with

    "FF PVP APS"
    (levels rule still apply, killing a level 66 with a 81 doesn't count as a kill)

    How it can work:
    FF unrecorded deaths/kills mechanism (0 deaths/kills) can still remain except that
    when one reaches a certain amount of kills, it grants you that aps without affecting your kdr.

    Like why not?

    Doesn't
    1. Most if not all of us like it simply seeing how active it is?
    2. Pots/Elixirs/"sniping" kinda make weakly geared players have a chance to play without dying as easily?
    3. A good amount of people always enjoy watching how people fight in the open arena and to cheer for either colorless, blue or red team? Like does it not mimic to an open football match?

    Even if they have weak gears:
    - War can still pull (annoy people), there's a pretty fun technique to pull people far far away btw (:
    - Rogue can snipe (to kill or deal decent dmg)
    - Mage can wind (to push) or lightning (decent dmg on crit)
    (For sure in any pvp mode except honor, you need some basic/decent gear to enjoy or at least play without quickly dying in one shot, a relatively more affordable pvp set - mire set does well for this purpose)

    So isnt it fun to join people pvp at FF?
    Can't this be a viable Pvp APS route instead of the traditional/ancient way of getting it?

    Possible concerns:
    For sure, people can still dummy or kill farm at FF open arena pvp, like people do it for aps.
    So regardless of what mode of pvp, there are gonna be people who would do this as long as there's this aps, which I think partly explains why dev might not say a thing about this.
    The point is, instead of trying to remove this aps, why not we make it easier for people to get it, this time, allowing them pots/elixirs/sniping?
    Wouldn't that encourage more people in a way to do it the more legit way while acknowledging the fact that we can never stop people from kill or dummy farming?

    P. S. For people that are disagreeing with this, feel free to do so, but the least i would ask for is be constructive about it and bear in mind about the pvp aps topic and not make this a toxic thread forcing or giving excuse for dev to close/delete this down once again. TQ (:

    I bet you would only/mostly see wars and rogues enjoy that

    Wars with defensive skills elixirs & pots won’t die

    Rogues just snipe which isn’t pvp imho

    & most mages don’t have the stats to snipe

    Also- “ Pots/Elixirs/"sniping" kinda make weakly geared players have a chance to play without dying as easily?”

    In tdm/ctf/duel pvp mode, people with weak gears stand 0 chance to even enjoy pvp for a tiny bit. In contrast, in FF pvp as long as you can afford a cheap mire set(war/mage/rogue):
    1. You can do some decent dmg, and when crit, can still kill a rogue.
    2. You can tank fairly well too

    Rogues snipe anywhere including tdm, so I don't see any point here.

    Not sure if you do pvp at ff, I enjoy it a lot, with my 67 war pullling people with TB and sometimes 81 mage (with profit ring or killing ring we can tank quite well, I don't even have op stats just that ring alone allowed me to tank a bit as a mage or war against rogue)

    Sniping allows the use of smart positioning to cover up your weakness. Of course, this needs enough practice otherwise op rogue can still pierce faster than you could run.

    So weak players won't exactly be food there if they know how to
    - snipe to kill(Rogue),
    - pull to annoy(War),
    - wind to push (mage) properly.

    Basically hit and run.
    They CAN still have fun.

    There's a reason why FF pvp is so active.

    Drop by more and perhaps you will have more practical comments to disagree with me (:

    Pvp isn’t : pots elixirs mire set bonus & no pet

    Besides sniping isn’t pvp because you can leave the map after hitting one skill & be invulnerable unless someone happens to hit you hard in that one second

    In pvp if you leave a map you are punished with a death, in fester you are “pro”

    If your idea is meant to solve pvp apps then I believe you have shifted the problem from one broken playing field (dead pvp maps) to another broken playing field (fester)

    Festerfang is one of the only place relatively busy in the game atm, add kdr there and u will make this place dead believe me,
    This place is busy exactly because death dont count

    Hmm I see, I guess we just have different ways to see PVP.
    To me fester isn't a broken field per se, just a different mode of PVP, besides being the most successful one among all other modes

    Some suggestions for that 'pvp':
    - Add some objects to that arena, make it bigger if possible (it will allow players to enter arena and charge skills before they died), empty arena boring
    - Escaping arena circle during fight (you got damaged or used skill in last 7-8 sec) = death (gives kill for somebody who hitted you last time before you tried to run)
    - Disable elixirs omg, that arena has enough damage (damage and heals there isn't nerfed as in regular pvp)
    - Potions: disable or make it allowed for autouse (like in pve), atm pc users have big advantage about that
    - It should be lvl81 zone with lvl81 rules, not lvl66-71 as it is now
    - Show in chat who killed who for more pvp drama as it used to be in normal pvp, pvp is dead without it
    - If that zone really going to give aps, it would be weird that honor pvp kills still don't count for aps
    - For those who cares about their kdr, it can count only kills without deaths, I still would like to see my kills in separated section, not added to normal TDM/CTF kills ofc

    Only thing i would change in fester is make any set, jewel etc bonus active, and allow ultimate, i would not touch anything else!!

    Fester is mindless fun, I think putting any significance to it will change it drastically. Maybe in ways that won't be so fun.
