    Default 1 beckon

Why do some people prefer 1 beckon for 30-35 pvp?? Is 6 beckon any different from 5 beckon? 4 beckon?

1 beckon is just for the beckon+stomp=smash combo, and smash is based on stomp i guess.
And the higher the beckon, the higher ur pulling force.

the most point you have on beckon, the most you'll attract the guy to you

    1 beckon = attract of 2 m
    2 beckon = 4
    3 beckon = 6
    4 beckon = 7
    5 beckon = 8
    6 beckon = 10
    7 beckon = 12

it must be something like that not sure abut the exact meters, but it seems to be like this

Beckon is 12m at all levels. Pulling power is increased per skill point.

I think he's stating how close each skill point pulls the enemy TOWARDS you.

"Attracting" effect isn't the range thing.. As SuperDexMe said, I'm "stating how close each skill point pulls the enemy TOWARDS you. " The range keeps being 12m

I have yet to see numbers on this theory. I can beckon at 12m and have pulled people past me. Have you seen this proven or just a guess?

    A deducion

When i were lvl30, i had 3 beckon, and i was pulling the guy towards me of 6 meters..
And now, since I have 7 beckon, I pull the guy towards me of 12m

It still needs to be proved, but I'm 90% sure beckon points affect the power of the pull (not the range) ^^

You might be moving towards them and/or they moving towards you. Beckon pulls people to the initial spot where you activated it so in the time window when the effect in activating, you moving towards them create the illusion of 12m+ beckon. Or you might be lagging a bit so where you see your self or your target(s) isn't where they really are.

And IMO I dont like max beckon or nearly maxed beckon. I recommend about 4 beckon, target comes straight at you without zooming past you, perfect for unleashing your hs and slashes.

Not sure on the numbers, but my guess is because the bonus of extra becon is 'hidden', ie, the extra pull strength.

People who use one beckon in 30-35 PvP usually have dodge builds, requiring more skill points used on evade, taunt, hell scream and crushing blow, resulting in lower beckon.

Sorry for the double post, but I thought I would post my findings.

Went to Forest Manor with Kraze (thanks bro for letting me sling ya!), and respecced my bear. Here is what we found:

At levels 1-3, the pull distance was relatively the same. Very minute (2-3m) and were never the same distance.

The pull distance between 4-5 were noticeably different from 1-3 but no two pulls were of equal distance.

Levels 6-7 obviously pulled further (and I was able to pull him past me multiple times), yet were inconsistent. Some pulls didn't reach me, some were exactly 12m, and some were past me.

So, though pulling distance does increase incrementally, it is false to say it is based on exact levels. Unlike auto-attack distance, beckon pull distance is way to sporadic to give a definitve pull distance per level. The only exacts are: 1. Increase in damage per level, and 2. Beckon range is 12m.

Now is it better to have 1 beckon and 6 crushing blow (but have to walk to the guy) or have 6 beckon and no crushing blow (but have the guy right on you)

In my opinion, this "pull distance increase" of beckon with level might be responsible for the scatter bear generation. What use is beckon if you don't have enough power to pull to the wall? They start beckon and they don't understand what its real purpose is. All they get is the enemy is pulled towards them; they might think that this is done so that a follow-up stomp is more effective. They wait... untill the enemy is pulled near them, then STOMP!!! as quickly as possible to make sure they combo. The further the enemies fly, the stronger the bear is so they make sure they are in the center of the room when they unleash their wrath. Then they hunt down each enemy individually to finish him slowly and painfully with their deadly Vengeful Slashes.

Beckon is a tricky beast, and it does confuse the noobs, and its increased power has increased the havoc caused by scatter bears. The big thing they don't seem to realize is that when you are moving, beckon drops a magnet at the exact spot you cast it. It then takes a moment or two to kick in (there is a delay) and then draws a line of a certain length from each target through the magnet and pulls each target the length of their line. So when the player is moving forward, they are are creating a mini vortex ~behind~ them, and they end up stomping the mobs BACKWARDS. It is even worse when the bear is on thrasher, because they are moving faster, so that is why they end up fed-ex'n the mob's to the beginning of the map for the birds to chase. If they would make sure the magnet drops along a wall or at the very least in front of them, then do a quick back step so they could keep the mobs moving forward, it would really really help. But hey, we can all dream, can't we

I was trying hard to think of a way to auto-educate young warriors - some sort of in-game tutorial when they first learn the skill, maybe? Even in the form of a special quest for warriors which gives them a good item when complete? E.g. an NPC shows them how it's done properly, then they get to try themselves. Even if they fail in the beginning, they still see the "image" of the correct way to do it.

Edit 1: Anyway, my point is that this would not be possible with the current "pull distance" of low skill level beckon.

In-game feedback is always an alternative, but it often backfires lol.

Edit 2: Fluff, just to clarify, I wasn't suggesting changing the power of pulls for all skill levels. That would probably create chaos However, it could be changed only for lower skill levels. I recently tried beckoning with just a few skill points and found that it's useless. Also, it probably gives new players a false impression of how beckon should be used. Maybe it's better if people get more power earlier so that they mess up at lower level dungeons and learn to control it before they reach endgame.

Not sure how this change would affect PvP balance though. Experienced low level PVPers would probably be able to answer this.

Anyway, interested in hearing your thoughts guys.
