Harder to level up

Hello, I made a warrior character and I felt like it was harder to gain levels.... is it just me or was the exp rewards changed? i have a secondary mage character and i didn't think i struggled so much as i did in this new character. I remember I was always a couple of levels ahead the map too but now my character level is behind the recommended level for the map and I'm still in dead city. Some of my guildmates said that the levelling up is harder for level 1-40 and level 40 above is easy. How does this work? are exp gains nerfed if your character is less than level 40?

tldr: was the exp rewards changed? can i see the patch note for it if it did? what are the specifications of the change?

They cut the amount of exp required to reach lv 81 from 1 in half, they increased the exp on lower levels because people would fly to lv 60 in 1 hour and decreased the exp requirement from lv I think 65 and above. I tested a new character out and I like it more because it kept me doing quests in a path rather than skipping half the campaign since I was 10+ levels higher than the content I was supposed to be doing. Now I stay around 1-4 levels below the campaign I am supposed to be doing which keeps me from leaving it and joining higher level ones.

yes , i too discovered a new way to play in the early game,,,, very interesting change... works well to somewat protect the game integrity from bots too..
