Timer in Hauntlet Got Removed?

Quest takes you to untimed version (for leaderboard purposes), but does not affect the AP in any way.

Can it be changed to where if you leave the hauntlet map it resets regardless if its timed or not? We all clear the first / 2nd room skipping the boss then remap by exiting to main menu pressing the quest book in the top right and "Go to" on the hauntlet quest so we don't have to run back to the portal each time.
