Hey guys,

couldn't think of the appropriate section, so I'll just ask here.

I recently got an android smartphone, and wanted to play games on it, especially pocket legends. I just wanted to know

1. How much data does it consume IF
I use my wi-fi
I use 3g
2. How much data would it take to download/patch?
3. Is 300 mb enough data for 1.5 hours of PL/day if I don't do anything else?
4. How to turn off 3g for samsung galaxy s2.

Thanks guys. I heard that it takes minimal data if played within your wifi zone but I also read somewhere its like 17 mb/10 min on 3g?

I'm on a limited data plan lol

If you have an unlimited data on your Wi-Fi, you should be set to do anything. My iPhone doesn't use data when I'm in my Wi-Fi... Don't download apps when you aren't on Wi-Fi though...

2. DONT download apps (especially PL,DL and SL) over 3G. It takes forever! Use wifi if it's available!

To turn off 3G, try this:
Settings>Wireless and Network>Mobile Networks>Network mode>Gsm Only

Few hours of PL will consume 300mb if he's playing on 3G though. He'd have to be playing 10+ hours though...although, depending on his playing schedules, 10 hours of 3G play time is definitely feasible.

Maybe it's just me, but mine seems to break a lot more. I'll test it out later.

Actually, if someone could find the dev's post to the data per hour consumed, that'd be great.

g said it pushes a max of 1B/second, that's 3.6MB/hour max. when I used NQ's net monitor to test, it topped at 800bits/s, but was almost always under 100bits/s.
your iphone is doing other stuff at the same time.

I belive using wifi does not consume data. My network is AT&T. They send me a text when my data is ie 50% used. Here, read this.
AT&T Msg: You have used 90% of your 2GB data plan allowance. Any overage bills @ $10/1GB. Tip: Mobile Data is unlimited over Wifi.

That's what I was thinking what was going on.

Still though, those 300mbs are barely going to be enough to extract emails, play pandora & all that good stuff, so he can't just take PL as the only factor while considering 3G playtime.
