It would be much more awesome if these were available to be bought for a period of time(this lvl cap) for ppl who want to work on purchasing, still its a great award for ppl who saved/farmed. It would also "remove [more] gold from the economy" if thats the motivation

This won't remove anything. As I said before, they could sell the gems or w.e for twice the amount they payed if they wanted to.
