    Hey everyone! I've been thinking about this a while and wanted to voice my thoughts.

    As of now AL is declining into steady oblivion. We have had back to back lack luster events or events that solely cater to the rich(In game and outside of the game) and OP people. We have had a expansion but it is all but dead from the get go. We have no new players but a lot of people leaving the game. Lets face it the game is dieing due to several reasons.

    1. It is completely unrealistic for new players to get ahead. Leveling is much easier compared to the early expansions but what about gold? What about gear? Extremely hard to the point you are forced to buy plat. While this may seem good for STS's bottom line i believe it's wrong. Not because STS id making money, but i dont think the devs even realize they can make more.

    When we have new players who have access to gold those players need more endgame gear. But without gold they cannot buy that endgame gear, reducing demand and reducing supply, how does this reduce supply? Simple, while there is no demand people still open crates, the problem is with how cheap some endgame gear is now, less people are opening crates. If we can increase the demand we will get a further increase in supply due to people who spend their hard worked money seeing value in opening those crates and buying platinum.
    In this case both STS wins and the player base wins.

    Now how do we help new players get ahead without breaking the system? Simple, everytime you level up to a certain level you get a new Legendary set to match that level. Tweak the set a bit and add a 250%, gold loot bonus to the whole set, can do 5/5 or 7/7, 8/8 however you want it. This allows new players to gather a decent amount of gold by the time they get to endgame, allowing the purchase of Zaar, and maybe even a few kraken items. Incentivising them to stay instead of giving up due to the difficulty of even getting basic zaar items.

    2. Events, as of late events have been well, lame. The last good event was during easter. One thing that makes a good event is when both f2p and p2p players both win, and there are nice vanities for LB runners. As of recent it seems only p2p players have the advantage during events creating a lot of inactivity.

    Example: During the easter egg event our guild Bellum was seeing 80-110 people online consistently and as of late that number has been reduced 25-45. We have the same amount of guild members but the activity has plummeted.

    How to fix this? Simple, make events consistent. As of recent their have been a lot of changes to events that we all know and love and based on what i have been seeing most of those changes have had a negative effect. The solution is to not make unnecessary changes unless the whole community is asking for it.

    2nd: Recent events have had no rewards for players who are not running for LB. The whole idea behind a event is to have players join together towards a goal, it could be looting new or old items. It could farming for tokens to buy vanities etc. The recent temple event had no vanities to purchased with tokens, no loot aside from the sacred flame crates to be looted and no where to really spend your tokens aside from buying Dragonfire weapons which are worthless. This was a dead event, aside from LB runners you couldn't even find people to run group runs with.

    The solution? Bring back consumables as well as add some sort of rare drop in the loot pool for a mythic or arcane item. These can include Speed Ups, Blue awake gems, etc. As for the rare drop? It could be a new jewel, or an item similar to the new items added to locked crates (Example: During the Last Valley event STS released new Rusk Arti which included the increased gold loot bonus, while those can be looted in crates, have the older artis with the lower gold loot bonus a rare loot item). This would incentivise New players and even older players to run these events while having P2P players opening crates to loot and sell the new gear. Also bring back either the possibility of crafting vanities or looting them. I believe the idea of having to craft a vanity of your choice during an event was a great idea by STS. Vanities that were good looking retained their value and players who participated in the event were rewarded for their hard work.

    3. Vanities, as of late i've noticed that not only LB vanities but also purchaseable vanities and craftable vanities have been a bit lackluster. While the design team at STS has been working hard i believe that recent vanities have been too complicated or too unique in a bad way creating a lack of desire to obtain them. The simple solution to this is to look back at past vanities and take ideas from them. Use other video games/fantasy realms as a source of ideas. A lot of us players want to see a classic Orc Warrior with fangs and a wolf pelt, bring our fantasies to life! The auras have been extremely good so no complaints there.

    I believe if this could be done then it would be a start, potentially even revive Arcane Legends from it's current near death state. Especially bringing in new blood and retaining them.

    This is something I've always been thinking about. Devs can see this but they won't reply because they are scared, ashamed, or maybe too prideful who knows? But I hope they open their eyes. None of us want this beautiful game to die. There are so many better games out there but this one hits different. I love this game to death I hope it can survive for as long as it can <3

    I agree. Its a very unique game in my opinion and the fond memories i have of this game since 2013 just make me even more sad when i look at the current state of the game.

    Have to agree, myself would never play this game in 2024 if I had to start from 0. The gap between new players and well geared/rich players has become larger after the massive gold loot buff every expansion(during evg time, playing 10+ hours with good gold loot and the best gear of that time would get u 20-25m, which nowdays is easily 2-3 hours). I don't know if there will be a way to fix this... "to get richer you have to be rich"

    This game is seeing more and more old players return and is in a terrific state


    If.you want to see dead game go play my old fave pocket legends. Or maybe go see the guys at space legends


    We have.it good and your perspective on things is lacking.

    The devs put so much effort and time into new ideas and things for us to do. And more we don't see is in store.

    It's a shame you have this opinion but that's all it is. An opinion.

    The simple fact is this game is thriving. New players and old.

    1. Players determine how much items are worth and it's all subjective. Flooding the game with gold won't help. If more gold becomes easily available, players will just charge more gold for their items. One thing I've always wondered is if elder players care about new players and if items cost too much for new players, why don't elder players 'help' new players by reducing their prices? To me, it's simple: you want new players to have a lot of gold so you can obtain a lot of gold for your items.

    2. We release multiple events a month and most have new content of some kind. I don't know of many other games that release new content as much as we do as often as we do. Many of the recent events were completely new with new game systems. Elder Woods has already had two mini-expansions (Lost Expedition and Elite Elder Woods) and will soon get another. Events are not all going to be bangers and every player isn't going to like every event. If you can't run the leaderboard, spend time getting better! If you don't like the event, take a break!

    3. Same with events, not everyone is going to like every vanity.

    With regards to your first point, I would gladly reduce prices if it meant that a new player will get my gear. The problem is the possibility of a merchant getting my gear and reselling it immediately. Is there a way sts can help with this? a couple of ideas I had in mind:

    1. Make new accounts/players identifiable: Give them a time limited badge that allows us to see that they are a new account. That way we know that our help is going to the right person. Honestly I would gladly form a pt with all new players/accounts and carry them when farming elite rahabkor.

    2. Allow them access to a separate auction/donation centre. In it the veteran players can list their items for cheaper if they want since they know it’s going to a new player. Veteran Players can only list, never buy. A few things to consider:
    - Extend the listing time to more than 3 days (maybe a week?) to allow time for new players to buy the gears since their progress is slow

    -Eliminate or reduce the gold cost to list items in this area to incentivize veteran players.

    - Limit the amount of characters per new account that can access this auc/centre to 1. (Maybe have a message that notifies the new account that the first character they create will be the only one that has access to this feature and that they will have to delete the character if they want access on a new character/class)

    -Access to this auc/centre should be at a high enough level (10 levels below expansion perhaps).

    Yes there is still a possibility to exploit this feature but hopefully the last 2 points would significantly hinder those people. This is just a rough suggestion more ideas are welcome.

    Handing out gl won't work as asommers points out, inflation is insane already cos of the gold supply, remember when 1m used to be a ton of purchasing power?

    I do agree it's way better for new and returning players when the catch22 of gold loot isn't an obstacle to obtaining gear essential to having fun with endgame (I mean basic zaarus and a hotbar slot). Even with gl, who wants to be carried 1000 times through erahab when half the time players leave and join fast pts? Events that are lb-focused or require speed sets are also no fun. Stuff like catacombs is great when older players are willing to help and even increases supply of arcanes indirectly by allowing players to sell their tradable sets.

    I imagine it'd be better if the more common legendary drops usefully debuffed/buffed/marked which would give new players a support role while keeping incentive to upgrade to better gear.

    3.Then you guys need to make us "like" the vanity. Not come up with a litterally-just-stick vanity staff everytime theres event. Mage always got ugly staff vanity. Just an opinion.

    The issue that seems to be overlooked with all the great ideas of giving buffs or advantages to new players is that endgame players will take advantage or exploit them which then extends the current displacement between newer players and reaching endgame even further.

    Most games that are popular have new players joining daily, allowing for them to progress faster with each other throughout the game, adding to their experience and if they can’t advance past the next level or map maybe a slightly higher leveled player will aid whatever previous challenge that they themselves might have just completed.

    From my personal experience, anyone who joins these days who are fresh meat are practically left to figure out every single aspect of this game all by themselves which leaves them overwhelmed. They have nobody near their level or within even 50 levels because majority of the players currently playing are grinding 86 to keep up with all the standards and prices that are becoming more and more demanding. Realistically nobody has the time or interest to basically teach a new player the entire game because everybody is too busy farming weekly events, 86 map, gold farming, merching, farming aps, etc, this even leaves some endgame players feeling burnt out resulting in some quitting the game entirely

    I haven’t put that much thought into what sts could do for bridging the gap while also maintaining a constant rate of new content for new and existing players but personally i simply miss the fun this game provided many years ago where i could simply join any map and find players running, i’ve made most of my friends from that time by randomly running maps for quests or ingredients and even without having the latest and greatest gear we all somehow managed to enjoy the slow and steady progression we made together. Those friends are gone and i find myself too tired most times to even attempt replicating that scenario at 86 because it just seems like a headache with all that it requires.

    At this point i would be happy if we never receive 91 expansion and just receive content for all players veterans and newcomers to play together so we can enjoy what this game has to offer without anyone feeling alone or left behind. Return to all the already existing maps and add new recipes, vanities, gears, gems, anything and everything to different boss’s loots and crates. Give endgame players a reason to run these maps and new players a way to tag along for their own slow and steady progression so they can learn the game at their pace while also making new friends. I’ll run those maps daily with any number of new random lower leveled players happily just reliving the nostalgia of when i first ran those maps years ago.

    Wow! I didnt expect my thread to gain some traction long after i posted it. Thanks for the replies! In regards to the gold issue i have a simple solution.

    Most players in this game have a GL set over 500% GL, sure not all but most. Introducing a 250% GL with a 15 day timer/30 day timer for new ACCOUNTS would be extremely helpful for brand new fresh players.

    1. Help new players get a running start, when i first started playing this game on a brand new account after 7 years of not playing i had about 4-5mil gold by the time i got to level 86. Introducing 250% GL set would push this number up to 10-12.5mil add the variance of being at endgame for a few more days/weeks during the GL set countdown and that number increases anywhere from 12.5-20mil.

    2. This set will have a countdown on its use. STS does this during cata for mats that are looted during Cata, they have a countdown to the end of the season and disappear once the season ends. This will not only insure that old players aren't able to abuse this but also encourage new players to play as much as they can during this time period. This set would also be ACCOUNT creation based. I believe STS is very capable of doing this.

    3. This will not create inflation nor will it make gold more easy attainable. The reason for this is because of how little % the GL is. We have Ava and Venal sets currently that give bonus Gold loot. The majority of the current player base has over 500% GL at the moment as stated earlier. I do not see this system being abused with so little to be gained from average-veteran players while there is a good amount to be gained from new players getting this perk. Once the cooldown is over, those new players will be forced to use the gold they spent on a new Gold loot set and or better gear. This in turn as i said earlier, will stimulate the in game economy with more demand and increased supply from plat purchases.

    What Asommers said here is absolutely true. When it comes to the speed set prices for example which are usually of high importance, its so clear those people who sell it want to profit off it instead of getting it lower for newer players. Nox Set was 10million tops just months back clean/bad awakes. Now its insanely high.

    It is has been very easy to farm gold now than it has ever been considering the gold loot sets available and the INSANE amounts of epic mini events which ppl can run to make decent gold. I know this for a fact since i started with a ravening set of 95GL% and played for over 5 years to get to Rusk/Kraken/Startbeast sets and cool vanity sets. It just takes time as a game should to be honest.

    The boss hunt for example, one of the most recent ones was a huge gold mine if players did a decent amount of runs per day. And tagging along in elite indigo which is also a gold mine is very common nowadays. I've seen people literally buy kraken weps in 2 weeks or less just by tagging along with avarice gold loot sets.

    This has a huge point. Getting advantage of new players is not a good idea instead helping them het their end game items. Also, Even giving them a gold maps or some gold events, Some player or should i say "Hoarders" will get these advantage on new players whose actively playing the event and ended up quitting the game because of this.

    Seems like this good ol game is falling off further and further. I tried to explain to the people up TOP in a nice manner, that this would be the case. And it is intriguing to now see my thoughts come to fruition. At least you're doing slightly better than concord and dustborn lol. It's crazy how the people who "bought" Vanities for real money and sold them for billions of gold are still around playing this game - untouched with no repercussions. That was the smart way to get rich and buy all the best gear + hog the market, without getting banned, or buying gold from your close friends for real money and the devs not having a clue. No matter how many screenshots you send em, apparently that's not proof of anything. - Just remember some of the most TOP names in this game cheated their way to the top - Enjoy AL y'all was nice popping by again - Only to see the same stuff still going on years later.

    Wow. This idea is so great! But here's the reality about Arcane catacombs lobby
    1. Everyone Hates New players with Mythic L81 Sets, I'm not pointing finger in all of you but mostly Old players Hating new players with zaarus set or even worse set. Instead Playing them, They trolling them like watching them die a million times and leave after that (I experienced this one 2 months ago when i started playing this game as newbie) and then instead ecouraging them to play more catacombs, They talking so bad. As a new player, Would you rather play that catacombs when most player that plays catacombs are just like that? No. So if you guys want to help new players, Please change this attitude. Yeah it is The far hardest map in the game but if teamwork was there, The dream will always work.

    2.Veteran players have to wait new players to come on the boss area, So we're done talking about what the attitude of the veteran players look like. Now Veteran players need to have a patience to wait for Slow movement new players to come on boss area. I have so many encountered scenario about this together with my friend in game(Which is also newbie). Some Players doesn't have these patience and they rush them to kill so the drop will only for them. As a newbie, Or what i say Sts game transferee, We need those drop on bosses. It's important to new player to get those gears without paying millions. Hopefully this will change in the next season.

    3. About trading mechanubis vanities' Crafting components, Every new Player trying to get as many gold as they can on this components or should i say "Crafting items", Old players knows the price , I admit. But instead giving them an exact price as they know, They always lowballing them. Yes it is a free gold but it feels so sad when new players getting lowballed by an old player. Help them get their own gears by helping them sold their crafting item in a normal state.

    This is all that i want to say about the real situation on joining lobbies on arcane catacombs and other things about it.
    Some of it are based on my experience and some aren't and they experienced it by others. Hopefully next season of Arcane catacombs change this and this game will be enjoyable.

    And we hope some Old gen players help get new players a free kraken gears on this event.

    i agree with a lot here however i think the new player experience needs to get reworked, starting this game at lvl 1 is a painful thing.

    the only way to fix this issue is by not adding more lvl caps, wait 2-3 years for l91 and improve user experience during this years, will this continue until lvl 201?
