Check your connection. If you're on wifi, power cycle it (reset it). Leave it off for like 30seconds to a minute. Reinstall the app again. That's what I had to do.

they are down, everyone is stuck at authentication page
Not anymore. Servers are up, just lots of players are converging on AL. System is having trouble because lots of people are trying to connect.
Yeah zone switching is extremely slow.
