SB Hammer Lightning Proc doesn't work on mage shield

The first time i realized that was in a duel. I see hammer procs on bar but lightning effect doesn't appear nor deal damage to opponent.

After that i wanted to test that on gevyn (the weekly boss in elder) and tadaa it doesn't work there as well i see hammer procs through bar but while mage shield is up there is no lightning effect and it doesn't deal damage as well since there is no lightning to deal damage.

Since chainsword proc applies through mage shield i believe that this is a bug.

Its not a bug, and not even elemental sets works on him, huge advantage, mage shields are immune to dots, and both hammer and elemental sets are.. dots! so it is what it is use other strategies to duel them.

Explain me why i see their weapons and chainsword works through mage shield and i will stop calling it a bug. Though you didn't even understand what im talking about neither know how mage shield works.

Issue is i see weapon procing below my avatar but lightning effect won't appear due to the bug (cause every time i do a single charged attack the moment it hits hammer procs the lightning). Bleeding effect and proc damage is separate things they are immune to bleed effects not procs.

Update: Also doesn't proc through glow shield and probably any kind of shield

There is no other weapon in the game that doesn't proc through such shields and yet you are still trying to claim that it is not a bug how ironic.

He is correct tho. Sb hammer dot doesn't work against enemies with dot immunity, like gevy, ekenta or mage with shield. The same goes for elemental sets.
There are exceptions to this, like kraken bow, sword and gun however, which will work perfectly fine against those. But I completely agree, that sb hammer dot should be able to proc against mage shield, like kraken sword does, because otherwise the followup attacks don't get increased damage, which makes hammer unnecessarily weak imo.
