community weapon/vanity design contest

Could we have something like this?
I see many people that are more interested in art concepts than current projects you guys put out. Not like everyone hates it but it could give some fresh perspective from players that are more into creative side of the game. You’re only benefiting from this really, ideas for free, you don’t spend time on designing them and someone can possibly take credit for it!
I see it in many other games and I think it could be a great way of interaction with your community.
Also it would be good follow up (definitely not desperate for it) to kick off Forgotten Vanity Event!

They did this before. I like the idea of doing it again, maybe even yearly.

I would be happy to publicly judge your designs. It'd be a nice twist on how things normally go with vanities and such :-)

We've done vanity weapons and banners before - so that's boring. We should have an Aura Design contest. Or maybe a Badge Design contest. Better yet, since they're the newest thing we could do a Halo design contest.

Maybe a poll? We'll do a forum poll to see which players prefer: Aura, Badge or Halo and then see about organizing a period where players submit their designs for Spacetime review.

We won't be doing a community vote on this 'cause last time we did that there were problems with big guilds flooding the forums with throwaway accounts to vote for their friends (and tons of accusations of malfeasance and favoritism).

You're right - considering a Title for some form of submission contest would be cool. Titles don't have the same sort of visual impact as badges, auras, and halos and that makes me think they'll be the least popular option... but I'm game to put them on the list.
