Default How does Razor shield: bleeding cut work?

"Charging razor shield will grant a 25% chance to cause the target to bleed for 5 seconds"

What target? Does it cause the first guy you hit, the first guy to get into the swarm, all the guys who get into the swarm, or what?

    Is this effective in general?

Anything that it hits has a chance of bleeding. Doesn't matter which target it is.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'd like to expand on this one and ask anyone who has the upgrade... does the bleed do significant damage?

As well as anyone with Shadow Piercer -- what is the damage like AoE-wise? Is it a viable AoE damage spell? (assuming infinite mana).

For me it does about 5 damage per second. I personally dont use it.

Yeah, it seems quite poor to me.
