Tips for a returning player

Hey there!

I started playing the game back in 2014 during Ursoth's Assault event and dropped the game when level 81, I think, was announced. It's been a long while and I suddenly got a craving for this game, so here I am again. I lost my account so I'm starting from 0 and this is my second day. I have been playing the Goblin Event for some hours and made some gold. I would like to know if you guys have any tips for general things nowadays and if there's any QoL update that had a big impact in the game.

I'd like to know about budget friendly pets that can help when levelling up.

The game went downhill for f2p need to spend plat or you will be behind by lightyears unless u have nothing going on irl

You’re going to save yourself a lot of time if you spend 100-300 usd on 4-12k plat to get yourself started. You can use the gold to buy decent gear to farm, or, take time to learn about the economy and make good investments/merch

Can't believe we've come to the point where the tips are to spend money. Used to be farm x in y map, or play x event during y time of the year. Its sad honestly. But yeah, to even farm gold you need tens of millions if not hundreds of millions of gold to get decent gear

I’ve seen many items went up in price. I managed to earn 3 million by farming the event and selling recipes and crafting materials but I’m assuming they’ll go down in price eventually and stop being profitable. I guess my aim for now should be getting to max level as fast as I can and then see what happens.

Farming jewels is a good way for beginners to make money (save money for a basic GL set)

I dare to say I'm free to play myself, I'm always 3-4 months behind. Takes me this amount of time to actually get enough for the new "toys" and in that time new ones cone smh

I just returned to this game (on jan) after quitting for 2–3 years. The moment I came back, I was shocked to see how ridiculously high the prices are for useful items like (SS), (GL) gear, or vanity items. Luckily, I had some rare vanities stocked up from back in the day when they were cheap. I sold them to buy an Arcane weapon, managed to level up to 86, and got some GL gear.

I've been playing again for a while now, and from what I’ve seen, it all depends on what you're aiming for. If you're just looking to have decent gear like a sb set and farm gold loot normally, that’s still possible—especially if you stick with normally priced vanity. But if you’re aiming for rare vanities or endgame gear like the Blood set, it’s nearly impossible (to reach in little amount of time) without buying plat. So far, I’ve only managed to buy one Blood item (the armor). Everything is so expensive now that I ended up buying platinum for the first time ever.

I bought 4,000 platinum and converted it to keys, then sold those for around 600 million gold—but even that wasn’t enough for a full Blood set. The only event where I thought I could earn from platinum was the Egg Event, but STS ruined it by faking the odds. They claimed you could get between 2 and 100 platinum, but in reality, it's more like 99% chance of getting just 2 plat. The price of Platinum Eggs dropped hard after the event too.

Right now, every event feels completely pay-to-win. You need elixirs to even have a chance at looting rare items. The Egg Event was trash by giving only mythic egg for non elixir player.

the game now is just a playground for OG players, whales, and market manipulators. players hoard all the best gear and control the market.

I even joined one of the so-called top leaderboard guilds, but there were only 12 players online and over 900 offline. i wonder how long i can resist before i quit again
