To put it simple gold is a mean not an end.
Gold loot is not content it is a mean to be able to progress faster.
I am thinking of making a comeback but now the next steps to revamp the game should be about content :
- multiplayer synergy over gear carry : by adjusting map to be doable with a party of 3 people equiped with only dropable gear (may result in adding gear to drop like you did, nerfing ennemies HP pool and mythic/arcane gear and pet damage output).
NB : now that the recount is live everyone should have seen that those top tier gear and pet damage output are just busted and gamebreaker especially when you adjusted all the game to fit them (you may already knew it from start)

- adding quests (story/side/daily) and putting better rewards on them (gold/gear/items)

- and something about non-honor pvp so we got something to enjoy outside of PVE

Just think of it as suggestions cause that is what it is and it is your game. Maybe you have other plans.

I mean in a way that :
- running maps in a fair amount of time will only need 4 guys with only dropable gear.
- So endgame mythic/arcane gear is not the mendatory requirement to run the map daily but it fasten the pace by making it possible in half of the time needed with lower grade gear.
- but to run LB or to complete maps fast enough with only 2 or 3 people we will need the arcane gear

That's the kind of balance i personnaly loved in arcane legends prime.
I hate the solo fast farm meta.
