Default Dress Vanity Looks Weird When Sitting

    Hi devs,
When the character sits, the dress looks odd and doesn’t follow the sitting pose properly.
It looks different compared to other vanities, which don’t have this issue.

I don’t have many vanity dresses, but these two don’t have any issues

Maybe the issue only happens with the Allseer vanity?

Short answer: This is a known issue that would take significant work to fix. Long dresses look broken when playing movement animations if they are connected to the legs like pants/skirts- they appear to be sliced in half when walking/running. For long dresses, we reduce the contribution of leg animation, making the dresses appear to 'float' below the character. This is why long dresses are acceptable when moving, but they don't look correct in sitting animations. The only solution we've come up with to solve this is to add "dress bones" to the rogue's player skeleton, which would allow us to animate long dresses separately. This is quite a lot of work, which is why we haven't prioritized fixing dresses (while sitting) over creating new items for upcoming events.
