Are there plans for a major event dedicated to pet evolution? If not I propose to do so, right now the only way to evolve pets is through platinum / buying shards&trainers in the auction.

From the daily chests you also receive a few shards. An event would be good.

Well making them lootable would solve a lot without having to create an event for that too.
Since they are consumable they should not become worthless.
