+1 I would buy it but it won’t happen. The game seems to have hit a dead end. It’s got the “can’t help it’s” and STS isn’t going to change it. The new content we do get is appreciated but I feel they are understaffed, don’t plan on making any big moves and don’t have the man power anyway to make this game booming again, even though it could be.

The main idea is having a Battle Pass. Something else to pursue. I think it would be nice.
For example, they are or probably still trying to allow item/plat purchases to scale by currency. What's to stop a guy from changing his VPN to somewhere else to buy 15x battle pass. If a pass ads anything monitory that can be used in game it is very easily exploited because of the trade system, other games have similar but everything like clash of clans, clash royale or fornite is bound to u

Nah bruh this idea is terrible what AL really needs is creating something that will actually make us grind, other than events and timed, aps Lb's what r we doing in game? Legit logging in talking w friends, running event, maybe running dune, trying to get maxed and spend money for a future event and logging off, most of us can't even do timed lb's because its very and i mean very competitive, pvp is dead cuz mages are hella broken and 1 tap you, thats why the game is dying imo its like sts is telling us here's an event with terrible rewards like it or not you can either play or sit and do nothing for the next 2 weeks that's it

Yea this game has complete potential, they just need to put in the effort to think and act.

Either way, everyone in this thread is here because they care about the game and want to see it improve. But realistically, what’s the point if STS probably won’t even read this?

They already have what they need: a community that refuses to give up on the game. All they have to do is listen and show some effort.

Take a look around the forums and see how many threads actually get a response from the team. There’s a good chance this will end up being just another thread ignored by a dev team that seems unwilling to engage with its own community.

It'd cost let's say 250-500 plats. Most rewards would be to help you progress through the game. For end game players it would be more about some bound items but for example, the battle pass would give you rewards like +10% to crafting speed or something.

VPN would be useless that way.

I was thinking about this as well, 200-500 plat isn't bad at all. Love your ideas

2021, 2022, 2023, 2024. You missed 2025 Don't tell me we skipped 2025 We gotta make this a yearly thing!

What are some troubles you think you would run into if you actually wanted to add it in the game? I have went through the posts and no one ever said anything more than "it's not planned''.
I am just curious. I like to think in systems and I like to make my own websites, projects and website games.
You are a seasoned dev so I'd appreciate some insight. Maybe if we knew why it wouldn't work, we wouldn't have to talk to you about it every year.
    Thank you.

You really could just *actually* read the threads that I posted (to understand why someone would disagree with you).

First - players hate the idea. The majority of players. Read the comments that you disagree with. Count them if you must. Players really hate the idea of another monetization vector.

Second - subscriptions are fundamental to the structure of a live service and if they are not there from the beginning they do not appropriately reflect the content. This means "re-make the game in its entirety" and that's ludicrous to consider.

People hate the idea because they don’t really understand it yet. That’s normal. So far, it’s just an idea. There’s no prototype or anything concrete to show.

Also, most players are just players, not marketers or game designers. A lot of them are worried the Battle Pass would end up being bad, especially because they haven’t liked much of what has been released in recent years.

I agree with your second point. If adding subscriptions now would mean redesigning a big part of the game, then it's probably not worth doing.

Fair enough, but I was specifically asking for Oakenmaiden’s opinion.

People don’t dislike the idea because they “don’t understand it.” That’s a pretty dismissive way to respond to criticism. People are fully capable of understanding a concept and still thinking it’s a bad idea.

You don’t need a prototype to evaluate the general direction of a feature. Players give feedback on suggestions all the time based on the information available. If multiple people are expressing concerns, it’s not automatically because they’re confused.

I also don’t think it’s fair to imply that players need to be marketers or game designers for their opinions to be valid. They’re the ones playing the game. If they see a Battle Pass and immediately worry about monetization, FOMO, or resources being diverted away from core content, those are legitimate concerns regardless of their professional background.

The reality is that if a suggestion can’t convince people based on its basic premise, that’s a problem with the suggestion, not the audience. Dismissing criticism as a lack of understanding doesn’t really address the actual arguments being made.

I think you’re reading more into my comment than I intended. I’m not saying people can’t understand the concept and still dislike it. I’m saying many people are judging a very broad idea before there’s anything concrete to evaluate.

That doesn’t make their concerns invalid, but it does make it difficult to discuss specifics when there are no specifics yet.

In any case, the point I found most convincing was the practical one: if implementing a Battle Pass properly would require redesigning large parts of the game, then it’s probably not worth pursuing regardless of whether people like the idea in principle.

Now that I’ve actually thought about what you said, I don’t think I agree with that point.

My suggestion wasn’t a subscription model. It was a Battle Pass purchased with in-game currency. Because of that, I’m not convinced it would require rebuilding the game or that it’s fundamentally tied to the game’s structure in the way subscriptions are.

More importantly, I don’t see why a reward/progression track would necessarily require a complete redesign of existing content. Games add new progression systems years after launch all the time. Whether the effort would be worth it is a fair question, but "the game would need to be remade in its entirety" seems like a much stronger claim than what has been demonstrated.

After reading over the posted threads, there does seem to be a lot of players who disagree with a battle pass system coming to AL. It’s probably best to just let the idea go. With that being said, anyone have any other suggestions? Or do we leave the game in it’s current state, by far not dead yet but currently resting on its death bed. Let’s not pretend we all don’t see where it’s going.

3 of your friends quitting or getting banned doesnt make the game dead, game being dead is when you can't even see 20 online players yet 200+ players are online daily for hours wake up and stop being a puppet and repeating what you see others saying
