L115 PvP 2v2 Tournament
Hello all, Mushed and I are hosting an endgame 2v2 PvP tournament! It will be no crafted gear and best of 5 games. We will officially start the tournament in 8 days from this post (Saturday, August 8th). You will be responsible for scheduling each match with your opponents. After completing a match, post the final score here, on the forum.
Post your teammates here and I will compile a list and create a bracket using AI (to randomize the teams and bracket) before the tournament begins. You may change teammates up until you start the first round.
I've spoken to several people at length about the rules and will not be changing anything, but I will happily clarify any questions/concerns you might have.
This tournament will be free to enter and the prize is TBD. At the very least, it will include gold put forth by myself and anyone who wishes to contribute to the pot.
@Futumsh, what are the odds you could make something exclusive for the winners?My suggestions are either a title, recolored halo (like the thick blue one from the honor tourney) or a recolored crown of persistence helm. Maybe a white helm with black gem, or regular cop with a halo on top. Or a recolored community shield. Anything at all from you would cause a HUGE turnout and could result in a lasting revival of PvP, and consequently, active player count. Please consider devoting some time for thisI'll happily create examples if you'd like.
Rules:
1. Forest fight level 115 best of 5 rounds 2v2. Clean, L115 mythic gear only; no crafted, sand ring, valentine, toyman, etc.
2. No vanities so it's easier to see the absence of crafted set sparkles, sand ring effect, etc.
3. Only dex bird, int mage, or str/dex bear.
4. Underpowerful, Mushed, or Muzzling must be present to spectate and screen record every match. The other option is at least one person (out of the 4 fighting) MUST screen record the match in case any discrepancies or arguments are made. If necessary, I will review the footage and decide the outcome. If no one records and we are not there to spectate, I will go by screenshot results only and will not hear any excuses of tree abuse, rejoining, etc.
5. No rejoins. 15 minute grace period on disconnects or it's a DQ. If needed, I will make the call if it was a rejoin for advantage or a simple internet DC.
6. I understand everyone is from different time zones and has vastly different schedules. As such, each team will have 4 days to complete their match and report the result. The unavailable team will be forfeit upon failure to schedule and complete the match within the alloted time frame.
7. No treeing. I know it's habit for many, so I'll allow 1 foul per team, per round. 2 trees in 1 round=automatic lost round (not DQ, just a lost round regardless of current score). No exceptions. This will be strictly enforced without regard for standings or score. Do not abuse the foul system. Fouls are only for accidents, not strategic treeing. If you hard tree or stay behind a tree after someone calls foul, it is a round loss. If there are any arguments at all, my judgement will favor the team that doesn't tree.
8. No macros or 3rd party input allowed. If caught, it will result in a permanent ban from any and all future tournaments and a report to STS.
9. No spectators aside from myself, Mushed, or Muzzling. This is to avoid advantages gained from potentially calling out lack of buffs, mana, etc.
10. No gear swapping. This means swapping to a regen set to heal faster.
