Pushing for level cap....

Has anyone noticed that STS, in the way they designed AL, is basically just pushing everyone to level cap?

Think about it..... For example, in PL there is a huge population of "twinks". Some folks do pvp at lower levels, but many also have twink farmers who farm the lower level dungeons for the lower level elite pinks. But in AL you cannot do that. Because the elite pinks fall from the elite dungeons, and when the level cap raises, all the elite dungeons scale up to level cap again, meaning a lower level player cannot ever get an elite chest.

So for example, technically the lvl15 & 16 elite gear has been discontinued, because only Elite II chests drop now, and those have lvl20 & 21 gear. So with no twink farming, everyone is basically going to be pushed towards endgame.

Also, another thought... If AL ever has a large surge in new players, that early level elite pink gear is going to be scarce, since it doesn't drop anymore.

guild wars 1 pushed people to cap and I love it. Then again it had a readied pvp environment and I think it worked.

then again, GW2 leveled the PVP playing field too fast! I was left with a "why bother" Ho hum sentiment..

AL doesn't have PVP...

So what does this all equal? I have no idea... if I could develop games... I would.

Yeah, PvP is coming soon, Sam Hayne said so. I just through it's interesting that everyone is pushed to reach cap. I will certainly make for an interesting game. I'm not saying it's bad, just different.

I noticed it to Energizeric. The lvl 15-16 elite pinks may be worth it to hold on to, because if the game doesn't change, those will be some kick butt twink gear when level 30 rolls around

I wouldn't say there was a groundbreaking amount of content unprecedented in mobile gaming or anything. furthermore both games are quite.. well.. comparable.

I'm not complaining about it. You'll notice even in PL I only do end game, no twinks. It's just something that I noticed.

What I mean is in PL you can play a level 56 bear for example, and you can spend your time farming 56 glyph items in Nuri. Or you could make a level 21 mage and farm sand caves for level 21 onyx, crystalline & earthquake gear. My point is you can farm elite gear with your twinks.

But in AL if you make a level 16 twink mage, you can't farm level 16 demonologist gear as those only come from elite chests, and the elite dungeons are closed to all except those at level cap (20/21). So they are pushing end game for PvE.

It's not ridiculous at all. The saying "Rome wasn't built in a day", or in this case 3 months is an expression to show that things need time to become great. Just like if he had compared it to cheese or wine, how they get better with age, it would have still made complete sense.
