Veil dagger proc

I've had the veil dags for two weeks now and from beginning till present, I'm still having issues getting it the veil dags to proc.
I use skills that do DoT like shadow pierce with upgrades that make it hit more times, nox, shadow storm shot but the issue still persist. Often i proc everything else, kill many mobs and still dont have the veil dag proc active.
The proc I mean is the damaging aura from veil dag

Please increase the proc chance!
I'm spamming my heart out doing normal attacks and skills to no avail

Bringing some more cons to this

Fighting bosses can be especially annoying since what we do is proc other gear first then swap to 8/8 veil with the dags. Just to have the dagger take forever to finally proc, you might be left with 5s or less of other damage procs which lowers your dps again.

I'm still having trouble trying to consistently proc veil dags on mobs even, it's either instant proc, requires some spamming or most of the time only proc when everything else is already dead due to other damaging gear piece

The totems in Duneveil and Dunveil Gauntlet can be extremely annoying for veil dag users.
With the chakram you get safety net shield so you can proc veil amu etc while slowly breaking the totem with auto attack. For daggers this is much more difficult cuz getting close to the totem is already a big challenge since it'll be surrounded by mobs, the damage aura proc of dag is also very difficult and low RNG to proc since you cannot get it from hitting shielded mobs. Even in D5/6 I'm dying most of time before reaching the totem, this can be much worse in Gauntlet where there's no revive and you have the chance to suffer from 3 totems spawning on each side of the map.

Lastly why doesn't veil dag have a pull mobs proc on charge attack like the veil sheild and staff do?
