Generally no. Just buy the color of the dragon set you are gonna get.

and since the prices of different pieces fluctuate so much in CS, if you have a gold dragon, you can simply buy the lowest priced dragon pieces and use your Gold Dragon to match with it. Handy and saves lots of money. All provided of course if you win the gamble pack and actually get the gold dragon.

i wish you could trade or sell dragon pets if you have multiple ones of the same color. Seems such a waste

Tried it once get none. Better spending the plat to farm red, blue, or green then buy the corresponding dragon. If its your first try you might as well since gold is the cheapest and you'll get something you don't have (3x Argos in my case)
