Banners need to take up no inventory, or they will be sold.

Banners take up too much space. You can only use one so having more then one just uses up space. I know sts works hard on banners, it just that people have too much and not enough inventory space.

On the other hand we need other rewards that are not banners and something we can use. E,g vanity helm, armor.

Creating a space for banners to not take inventory would make them more worthwhile instead of clogging inventory space.

I think STS would rather you spend some plat on more inventory spaces.

The 70 plat bundle is the best way to get inventory slots. Getting that bundle is the first thing I do each time I cap. That's 50 slots per cap, if you go with that plan. I have more inventory slots than I know what to do with, lol.

Not everyone can afford it. I don't have time for plat offers and assume others don't.

I agree.. the cap rewards shouldn't take up space. Specifically, things that are earned that cannot be replaced. Then there is no incentive to liquidate them.
