Default Damage contribution from Dex/Int point

    Hey sorcerers,

I have summarized a bit below data from my lvl 26 sorcerer in total nude fashion:

    Dex Damage Contribution
    10 0.05
    20 0.055
    50 0.056
    70 0.054285714
    100 0.055
    130 0.055384615
    150 0.055333333
    175 0.055428571

    Int Damage Contribution
    10 0.02
    20 0.025
    50 0.026
    70 0.028571429
    100 0.03
    130 0.033076923
    150 0.034
    175 0.057714286

    Then a graph to show:

Size: 71.8 KB

If my data is correct, this shows that per Dex/Int point contribution to Damage will change depending on the amount and can easily say that:

For Dex: It delivers best Damage contribution when you added 50 Dex points - 0.056 per Dex point
For Int: It delivers best Damage contribution when you added 175 Int points - 0.0577 per Int point (Still Int higher at this stage)

I haven't try with additional INT/DEX points given from other stuffs (Helms/Armors bla bla bla) and it might gives a totally different look! This is just base points and might not be useful.

Feel free to have your advice accordingly.

    Hope this helps.

Wow thanks for this. Nice charts too. I guess this reinforces what others have said about going full Int right?

Your confusing damage an bonus damage. For a Rogue, 1 Int = .0257 Damage and 1 Dex = .0195 Damage AND .005 Bonus damage. This is why it looks like at the beginning the off stat is doing more because the main stat builds on itself. Bonus damage also builds on the damage from your weapon and other damage adds, so you really need to look at the picture as a whole.

I am confused about the difference between bonus damage and just damage as well. For mage, dex doesn't increase bonus damage. Does bonus damage relate to skill damage?

Only your main stat increases your bonus damage, so for a mage it would be Int. When you are looking at your stat page, they are showing you effective damage, so that already has bonus damage built in. Effective damage = Base Damage * (Bonus Damage / 100), but again, they are showing you effective damage, if you want to see base damage, you have to calculate it. For a Rogue, effective skill damage = Base Skill damage * (Bonus Damage / 100) so I would assume the same for a Mage. Note again, they are showing you effective Skill Damage.

Hi Fluff, thanks for the clarification, first time heard of this. Still this doesn't explain why the drop in the middle for Dex if bonus damage effect is applied evenly? By the way, I thought the readings are done as "pure" as possible with nude sorcerer haha... Please guide me more! I want to get the best tune for all sorcerers!

What was your INT and Bonus Dam% through your whole DEX test. When I test it, if I have equip gear to 200 INT for a 200% Bonus Dam%. Have 153.1 Damage in this set up and have 138 points to spend in Dex plus 20 passive Dex (4 points so i get an even numer of Dex) for a total of 158. At .05 Damage per Dex * 200% bonus damage * 158
My Damage is now 168.9 (15.8 increase)
    0.05*200%*158=15.8

So Dex gives exactly 0.05 damage per point as a base, multiply that by you BonusDam%

Damage = your average damage per swing on a mob without armor reduction
BonusDam% is built into your Damage

also, your experiment about int is wrong

you must read the data in the avatar or inventory menu while not equipping any ring or amulet

but not the upgrade menu where you add your state points

different weapon types will also affect the result

btw, bonus dmg does not only affect the dmg contribute by dex
