The Battle for Nordr should go live later today

The Battle for Nordr expansion should go live later today.

The team is humming away on last minute polish, making sure all the i's are dotted and t's crossed

We will be posting the elite loot distribution later today as well. Like the Kraken Isles expansion. There are specific drops that drop from each of the 5 different bosses: Elite legendary helm, armor, and class specific weapons.

Also, all chests will have new versions. Old chests will only scale up to level 25-26 while the new version of chests will scale all the way up to level 31. Chest naming is as follows:

Battle of Nordr: War chests

Kraken Isles: Pirate Chests

Dead City: Banded Chests

Original Zones: Chests

Wait... regarding the chests. Are you talking elite or just normal chests?

How do we tell the difference between new and old chests?

Currently there is an elite gold pirate chest.
Will there be a new version of the elite gold pirate chest?

So elite chest II / banded and pirate will only drop lvl 25-26 gears. This is what you say?

Season 3 leaderboard banners will be granted some time after the expansion goes live. It will take some time after the close of season 3 to tally up the winners and grant the banners.

Please clarify, will current elite chests contain level 30 items like what happened in the previous expansion?

Current Elite Gold Pirate Chests will only go up to level 26 gear.

After the Battle for Nordr expansion goes live, there will be the current Elite Gold Pirate Chests and a new Elite Gold Pirate Chest II that will now drop from Kraken Isles Elite Zones (that you will now need to be 30 or 31 to get into) that will have gear up to level 30. Level 31 gear will only come from Elite Battle of Nordr zones and Elite War Chests.

I will have a more thorough announcement post with this, and other, loot details soon.

Since locked crates are gated by when you open them (for the 15 Platinum price) as opposed to when you get them (like the dropped Elite Pirate Chests, for example), will scale up to level 31 once the Battle for Nordr expansion goes live.
