What happens if I open chests in low level?(not locked ones)

For example, I believe you can get champion sets from new war chest.(correct me if not)
What happens if I open them in low levels like 10?
I know those items wont show up in low levels, so what items would be available in low level if I open?
Like demonlord sets, you can still get lvl30 ones if you open chests.
But you won't get them in low levels.
Can someone explain to me?

You only get items that are 2 levels higher or lower than your current level I think.
