Regarding the energy issue:
While I appreciate the response, I don't agree that limiting how much people can play is the answer. People played last week's event so much because it was a beneficial event that they wanted to run. They didn't feel like they "had to", they did it because it was fun and they could loot useful things. Unfortunately this screwed those of us who were unable to play that weekend, as the event was cut short so we couldn't participate. Limiting participation in the next event to those with either a lot of plat or a ton of gold, just frustrates those who missed the pet event even more.
The main problem with energy events in general, and especially those without craftable energy is this: Most people don't have the chance to play every day (or even every week). When those who work and/or have families have the time to play, it is often a couple of hours or a single day at a time. When you make people wait 8 hours for a single portal entry, by the time they get their energy refilled they no longer have time off to play. This is extremely discouraging.
I'd far rather be able to run as much as possible when I have time, and have drops that are good rather than huge, than have to stop playing for 24 hours just to get 3 more portal entries.
While I sincerely appreciate the recent efforts (and communication) from the devs, when this energy problem is combined with the ever-increasing complexity of the game, events and ap's, and the requirement to find parties to even play the newer maps, it drives the game increasingly further from the pick-up-and-play model many players came to the game for. It seems to be that the game is becoming strictly for the hard-core full time gamers, which is usually a fairly small group (I know because I spent many years as one).
Just my observations.
