Reworking the loot system so that ALL droppable loot has some use from the best to the worst.

Top gear - Mythic and Arcane - Is craftable via a long and complex recipe.

Legendary Gear dropped or obtained through chests in Elite zones now has a band.

Band 1 - Brackenridge
Band 2 - Dead City
Band 3 - Kraken
Band 4 - Nordr
Band 5 - Shuyal
Band 6 - Tindirin

These banded items can be crafted into untradable tokens.

10x band 1 gear -> 1 white token
10x band 2 gear -> 1 grey token
10x band 6 gear -> 1 red token
and so forth.

Tokens can be used to craft gear along with the collection of essences and the current level "currency" (like dragon teeth/elondrian tokens etc).

Mythic Helm Recipe:

50 x each essence
150 x dragon tooth
1 white token, 1 blue token, 10 red tokens

Mythic Armor Recipe:

300 teeth
2 orange tokens, 2 green tokens, 6 red tokens

Items dropped in every elite zone become both valuable and desirable. F2P begin to have something to work on which will get them back into the game.


If I don't want to craft the gear myself, I can still farm the elite zones and sell my drops... they will be useful in crafting tokens,even if not to wear.

Crafting provides an exit route for the drops in game and revives desirability of items obtained through elite versions of past cap dungeons

**Crafted items arrive as an "[item name] delivery crate" which is tradable, but the item becomes soulbound to the toon on opening.**

Keeping up the plat side of things:

The only things which one can obtain "only" through plat are items related to getting exclusive -pets- or vanity gear. Some of these are available for direct plat purchase, while others can be obtained only through opening a variety of crates which are purchasable for plat, and which drop 1 item which may be one of the direct purchase options, gold, or at an arcane drop rate an exclusive vanity to this crate.

Pet Crate: junk drops are regular legendaries/the current locked legendaries- best drops are arcane pets. In pet weekends (shark weekend etc) there would be a featured pet in the pet crates.

Banner Crate: Chance to drop one of a few awesome banners, with varying drop rates including some super rare ones. These banners preferable include banners which are essentially just particle effects like big and little love were (awesome ones I would love to wear as vanity: green goblin bubbles/blue mythic amulet trail/love hearts/shimmer as seen on some past armors). Filler drops would be regular stick banners. Lets face it... we would all totally want a particle effect banner!

Vanity Crate: Drops all vanities, but also has arcane chance to drop exclusive vanities (alla coloured jester vanity).

Jewellry Crate: Pretty much as the jewellry crates are now, but with a rare chance to drop some actual legit rings or amulets with a particle effect.

Gem Crate: Drop all gems but rare chance to drop "Crit gems" or "Shield proc gems"

Elixir Crate: Drops all elixirs with rare chance to drop 100% 30min xp bonus elixir/1hr double boss drop elixir/other "arcane" quality elixirs.

And so on and so forth.

Free to play players are happy because although to mountain to mythic is steep, there is a path and it is climable and everyone has a fair and equal shot at the things which most effect gameplay.

Plat players still have chances at rare items but these are customisation and not items which majorly affect the balance of gameplay.
