Elon gun or Frost gun now?

I see a few top Mages change from Elon gun to Frost Gun as the recent nerf to rooting in PVP.

Frost have slightly better stats than Elon Gun but it doesnt root Boss in Arena and some PVE Maps. Is the extra armor for Elon gun really worth it since it wears off quite quickly?

I am trying both guns at the moment thinking of not using frost bolt instead of frost gun so i can use other skills, let me have your thoughts on which gun is better at the moment.
