I agree with Arachnophobik on this.

But in my opinion, thats okay.
AL is a global game, not everyone speaks English.
Some try to speak English, but because they don't know it very well,
they hear words like "sir", "bro", or "dude" and they think thats how to talk to people
I remember back when I first arrived in the US,
I knew only my native language, so I called everyone as "hello"
because at the time, that's how I thought people communicate in English.
Of course now that my English is more fluent, I know that not everyone is named "hello"
To start a chat with someone, I should begin with something along the lines of first saying their name

So maybe some of the people who talk to you ingame don't know fluent English, but want to communicate?
