I can understand the confusion.

I go by what was originally written in the forum thread about the event. And look on game at what is in the set bonus details when pressing the vanity icon.

On occasions when vanity set are made for the vendor STS does make mistakes and copy and paste from other events and forget to update the event vendor vanity set stat bonuses.

For this event I feel the stats listed on the event vendor for the Crimson and Violet Menance sets are incorrect .
Crimson Menace 3pc bonus: 50% Gold, 3X Speed. Armor and Damage






And the actual stats are in fact
Crimson Menace 3pc bonus: +200% Gold, 2X Damage and Speed (in PvE)

I think you're correct judging by the speed of the worn sets in the dungeon. Hopefully vendor description gets adjusted to squash the confusion.
