We've made some changes to the Item Awakening (Enhancement) System that will go live during the next Item Awakening Event.
What's changed:
- Enhancements are now one of 4 standard rarities (common, rare, epic, and legendary). All awakenings with the same rarity have the same odds. Legendary enhancements are equivalent to the enhancements that were only available during the previous events.
- Awakening Gems (Stones of Augmentation) now have a list of rarities they allow.
- We've added Cracked awakening gems (rolls common rarity enhancements only). These can be looted and do not unlock slots additional enhancement slots.
- We've added Arcane awakening gems (rolls rare, epic, and legendary rarity enhancements. All common enhancements are excluded).
- You no longer have to wait for the Item Awakening Event in order to obtain legendary enhancements. If you use an Elite or Arcane awakening gem, you will be able to roll any available awakening.
- You will be able to awaken items at level 1.
- The Item Awakening Event is now used only to offer Standard (blue) gems for Gold as well as Arcane gems (green) for Platinum. Elite gems (red) will always be available for Platinum
- We've filled gaps in the enhancement values and added new values at the high-end. For example, here's what "+ to All Stats" looks like:
Enhancement Rarity +1 to All Stats NEW! Common +2 to All Stats NEW! Common +3 to All Stats Common +4 to All Stats NEW! Rare +5 to All Stats Rare +6 to All Stats NEW! Rare +7 to All Stats NEW! Epic +8 to All Stats Epic +9 to All Stats NEW! Epic +10 to All Stats Legendary +15 to All Stats Legendary +18 to All Stats NEW! Legendary
- Although it's the Platinum Store, the item awakening event will make an exception and show Standard awakening gems for Gold during the Item Awakening Event. Previously, you had to go to the Awakening store in the Awakening interface in order to purchase those. Now, all gem types will be visible in both locations based on availability.
Additional notes:
- As before, some enhancements are specific to item types. You can view the full list of enhancements available by item type in the awakening UI.
- A possible misconception will be awakening pool dilution, but based on how enhancements are rolled, this will not be an issue. We will be rolling for rarity first, and then select an awakening of that rarity. This way, the number of awakenings per rarity has no effect on the chance you'll receive a specific rarity.
A list of enhancements and their odds are listed below.
