I think it should be there, because anyone can join they just have to applie first. A lot of guilds you have to applie for e.g. I know Sparkling Pwnies requires u to applie on their personal forum first before u can join.

Yeah applying shows a lot more than asking for an invite.
I stopped doing this for a while and things got too crazy,
We want strong members rather than more members.
Quality over quantity :-)

This also encourages people to get to know their guildies better,
Who doesnt wanna see pictures of their friends and stuff?
