Most of the devices u guys are posting can be upgraded to ice cream sandwich, jellybean and gingerbread. Update your device to get a sound back. 2.2 is really outdated, they really can't do much in the game for 2.2. I am running 4.2.1 on my galaxy s (i9000) and stock 4.2.1 on my nexus 7.
