Dex/DPS tradeoff

At what point should I be trading a couple of Dex for straight DPS on a bow?

Equip both of them and see which gives you a higher dps.

well you have to equip it to see the bonus from dex.

It's not quite obvious that the dps increase due to dex isn't shown in the stats preview before equipping an item. Thanks for the hint.
