These are from way back when level 45 (AO2) was the cap. Note the level cap players wearing Thoth gear. Thoth was the gear that had the best mana regen before it got nerfed. It was said that once you had Thoth you would never buy mana pots again. All elves came with these oddly pointed hoods. They looked like tulip bulbs. My alt Nilsia here has since been renamed to Emorin.
My first blaster was a gift. Who was it from? Maybe it was Apollo. He's so dang nice. Maybe it was from Mampi. The best thing about it was the sound it made, but the DPS was pretty good, too.
I'll always love this pic. It was for a contest. They had just created Vyxnaar and we were farming for the level 25 helm. (I never got one to drop, but Apollo gave me one!) I wanted exactly this picture, but I ruined it by talking about it in chat. My buddy chickdigscookies won that contest. I was a close second, according to G.

Speaking of CDC, here's his toon "Holybean" with the contest prize, a PL Shield. You don't see many of those around these days.
Here's an extremely lucky picture. I knew 49 was close so I watched very closely and snapped the zoom-in. It was really, really cool that two mages had released their self-combos at that moment. So yeah, I'm leeching because I stopped firing to snap the shot. I snapped a pic at 50 (then the cap), too, but it's nowhere near as excitiing. This was probably in the Mynas room. Back then it was the place to get xp. Now of course the xp in that room is disabled. AO3 was really hard when it came out and a few people who were good friends quit because they thought it was a plat sink. Those people never came back.
A very exciting day for me. I was told back channel to keep it quiet because they were going to announce the Guardian program, but then I heard Royce had been spotted with his shield in Balefort Castle, so I met CDC and took this picture in a private instance. It was over a month before I was allowed to display it publicly! LOL!
STS' First Christmas. We figured out right away that the drops were based on the highest level player, so by making the toon named ONLYLEVELTEN, and putting polite requests for higher levels to "come back with a level ten toon instead please" (there is no booting in Winter Village), we were able to induce these very valuable items to drop. Thing is, I still have them all. I can't bring myself to part with them.
I have lots more pics, but these from year one are what I think you wanted.
