There aren't any official positions but there's 3 in the front and 3 in the back.

Here is what I found on Google.
Setter (S) (usually the captian), outside hitter (OH), libero (L) (defensive specialist - wears a different colored shirt and can sub in & out without the normal formalities), middle blocker (MB or MH), Right Side (RS) (usually left handed or the alternate setter). All other positions (back row) are defensive positions. In general if there are only six players on the team... then you will have two setters, two OH, and two MB. The players that are in the rotation position of the back row then they are playing defense until they rotate to the front. If you just want to know the "numbers" of the rotation then... the server is "1" (right back - looking at the net - not through it) "2" is front right, then it just goes around ending with back middle as "6". Those numbers are also used for a coach to tell the server where to serve the ball - with a 'six' as a fist.
