As most of us are already aware, 1.5 was not all it was looked up to be. There are many angry players threatening to quit/stop buying plat. These threats hurt Spacetime now but wont later.
Many people see Pocket Legends as how it was when it was a nobody game trying to grow in the deadly world of applications. Now its tippy top dog for MMO on the Iphone. They don't need to persuade you to play the game anymore, they can certainly charge now vs. big savings. They are a expanding company after-all and do need to make profit.
Now you might be wondering why my title is angry/blind. I'll explain that now. With all MMO's that I have played there is one trend. New players BUY BUY BUY. Old Players QUIT QUIT QUIT. For the new players they have no clue that the game is uberly expensive to what it used to be. Old Players do and since they have experienced a large majority of the game, they will be more conservative with their money.
Run this through your head. When you first started playing, you wanted to buy it all! Emotes! Extra Character spots! Stash! Inventory! Maps! Good gears in a simple press of a button (platinum-bought gears)! What seemed to be all the money you would ever need in a single press (Plat for gold)! Now that your a high level experienced player, you see you can function without most of the extra features of this game that cost real money. Its the addicting quality of greed and instant gratification that is making Pocket Legends profit. They can survive as long as they want as long as new players join the game.
Now obviously this makes it sound like they don't respect their players who have stayed loyal and dropped $50-250 dollars on this game. They indeed do. Without loyal players and big spenders, the game would have never gotten as big as it has today. Hopefully Pocket Legends will do something on their part for their loyal players. (Maybe a free high level dungeon or so? )
Just remember: Pocket Legends is a company, not a charity. They need to expand and expand they do. This game does have something most other MMO's no longer have. Devs who observe. Devs are quite social on these forums (yay! ). But if you notice since 1.5 came out, not a peep from them. They are silently observing us seeing what we like/dislike trying to figure out how to make this game better. Big games like Runescape and World of Warcraft have to resort to all out riots for their voices to be heard (to their dismay they never are).
