Nice guide mate
Based on my yesterday's experience with connection, I would add couple of more terms:
Ping
DC
Lag (although misused often to justify cheap death)
SFBSN (Sorry for being such a noob)
add twink. coz i dont know what that is
+1 thanks
If I may add:
DOT: Damage over time. Skills like Fireball/Frost have DOT effect, the target burns and slowed over time.
You might also add the company behind this game:
STS- Spacetime Studios-game developer
STG- Spacetime Games-publishing company
Correct me if I'm wrong.

The Forum here is more FUN!
Hi Alrisaia, nice thread. It's nice to see another oldschool MMO gamer in the community
Wow, thinking of some terms from UO and EQ... there's a LOT! Some you may want to add:
HoT: Heal over Time, like from Horn of Renewal or Lifegiver
OT or Offtank: Not necessary in this game, but who knows - maybe later it will be with 2 bosses. Means for a second warrior to grab aggro and tank the second difficult mob/boss while the party concentrates on the primary target
LD: Linkdead; lost connection
PL or Power Level: Running a new toon or twink through a map that yields quick XP without the lowbie doing much work
PBAOE or Point Blank AOE: An AOE spell that manifests from the player's position. Juggernaut's taunting effect would technically be a PBAOE, and I think curse may be as well
Slow: An effect that increases the interval time between attacks
Rez: To resurrect, or in this game, revive
Pull: To strategically bring a mob or mobs to the group rather than just rushing in
LOS: Line of Sight (something I really wish more people who played AL knew how to use *cough* Rook's Nest and Grob Beach *cough*
CC: Crowd control - controlling the movement or incapacitating mobs so that they don't cause damage or cast spells during combat
LFG: Looking for group
WTS/WTT/WTB: Want to sell, Want to trade, Want to buy
I have a lot more.. not sure how many you want to add, though. A lot of the ones I still use people just stare and blink at me... they aren't really used in this game. One term that this new generation of gamers has completely obliterated the meaning of is "noob". It didn't use to be an insult like it is now. It has lost its original meaning.

• PvE - Zero Death Mage •
• Kdr - Mage • Duelist - PvPer •
I hear that Taejo - when you read my twisting guide I'm sure you knew exactly what I was talking about... I remember bard's twisting their songs and that's where I decided to apply the term to AL and twisting pet abilities and or spells...
What server did you play on Taejo? I was on Erollissi Marr (sp?)... In fact you can still find posts of mine from way back when... (like prior y2k) on the interwebs... lol
You did great mate - thanks for the help I think the only one I had was POTS.

Please let me know what you think about the new format with the 'spoiler' buttons... I'm not sure I like it, but the Glossary is getting very long.

I had the pleasure of playing EQ for 5 years on the Nameless server in the guild Legacy of Steel, run by Jeff Kaplan (Tigole Bitties) who later became WoW's lead project designer. Being in that guild is where I learned most of the 'behind-the-scenes' information about MMORPGs, and gives me a smidgen of credibility when I talk about strategy or rant about bugs
Oh, another one for your list which is specific to this game:
RG: "regroup", where you're asking your team (in PvP) to gather up before the next battle
EDIT and off-topic: I miss games with a bard-concept class. Not many have them... EQ and D&D Online are the only two I played that had bards.

Thank you for posting an accurate definition of "farmer". I think this word's exact meaning is getting lost in translation as we venture into the mobile era of MMOs. A farmer is typically a player who is killing mobs that are trivial in difficulty for a certain item(s). For example, you can farm elite Man Eater for Noble head armor or elite Bloodhammer for a skewer. However, you can't technically farm elite Bael (the one on normal maps), as his spawn rate is random and completely too low. You can hunt for elite Bael, however. The words "farming" and "hunting" are often mixed up; and "hunting" is becoming less utilized now days. Instead of just asking someone "What are you farming?", it really should be "What are you hunting?". Oh well, things change over time, I suppose
Alrisaia: Add "spawn" to your list, too. Yesterday I said to someone "I have only seen the Challenger spawn twice" and the reply I got was "wats spawn???".

Some more I thought up:
IRL: In real life.
IMO: In my opinion.
IMHO: In my honest opinion.
Mule Account: An account specifically to store extra gold/items due to lack of inventory/stash slots.
Nerf: To reduce the effectiveness or potency of an object, character, weapon, or action.
NP: No problem.
Spec: Usually refers to your character build/specifications (skills, stats)
WB: Welcome back.
That's all I have for now

Thanks for starting this thread! Here are a few more additions if you'll have them. A couple are phrases that you mention while defining other terms, but are worthy of their own listing:
Build - How you distribute the stats points for your character, usually based on your play style and/or purpose (e.g. your build may vary based on whether your are primarily doing PvE or PvP, or whether you prefer playing solo or in groups).
Kiting - When you grab a mob's attention and keep walking away from it, pulling it along like a kite.
EXP / XP - Experience or Experience Points; how much you gain from a mob toward your next level.
Grinding - Killing mobs for reasons other than fulfilling a quest, usually to gain XP or farming.
NPC - Non-player Character; characters that are part of the game and not played by other people, such as monsters you kill, and people who give you quests or sell things.
Squishy - Refers to player classes who tend to take a high amount of damage while being attacked (but usually deal a fair amount of damage in return) such as mages.
Drops - Items dropped by mobs when killed.
AL: Petrichordani <Epitome of Silentkill>
Thnaks so much, AL is my first MMORPG game so I m kind of noob to many terms. Btw, what does "onade" mean?
PvP:
RG - Regroup - "We need to RG"
CD - Cooldown - " skills on CD"
GB - gangbang
---------------
this are some from other mmo i played.
PK - playerkill - to kill or kill -
FF - Focusfire - " FF on rogues and mages first"
NoTE: TS must update the list lol.
Thanks to Cero, Ebe, and threnody for the additions.
Keep them coming guys

Can we make this sticky? I'm new to this forum, and I really find this thread useful to understand the lingo on this thread.
Can I add: PT - party (players are always shouting PT - to party)
What does AP mean?
Wiggy - Thanks for the additional terms. I've added them in - perhaps one day it will be sticky - but it gets updated often and I keep a link in my signature to keep it alive, oftentimes referencing it in my replies to others throughout the forum.
