Try completely uninstalling the app and reinstalling. After that, reboot your device, start the game and try again (after all updates have been downloaded).
My guess is that some files in the texture packs got corrupted in some way, the steps above should solve this.
I'm also playing on an iPad (3rd gen) and everything looks just fine here.

Thanks a lot I reinstalled and everything is back to normal xD
It happens after every update, every maintenance and every expansion. It's normal, when you close the app after use. (make sure it's closed and not just stand-by) when you log in again, everything will be back to normal
