Yes indeed, but then they can continue moving forward, and not be stuck on the same old items. If they can take PL to lvl 76 cap (and still have room for cap but aren't capping it), I think AL can take a few more versions.

Sam himself said mythic gear should last 2 seasons, arcane for 3. I don't why people are still clinging on to a dead body :|
