Abaddon is not good for mage. IMO, you could get Clyde for 90 plat, and he works just as fine for PvE.

Well Scorch and Abaddon are the same price in the stable, and IMO, Scorch would be the better buy. With Scorch's damage reduction bonus, you wouldn't really need Arcane shield for easy PvE maps, and you wouldn't need heal if you can manage to buy enough potions. This means that you can afford to use four offensive skills, probably Timeshift, Fireball, Gale, and Lightning for a beginner. This is just my point of view, others may think differently.

As Instant said, Clyde is good for pve. However, abaddon is far from bad for Mage, in fact it's one of the best. Mages are made for DoT and crowd control in pve especially. Abaddons arcane is a very wide DoT effect. The dmg you do with it is more than any other pet besides singe, the armor is great when you run to the boss in elites (not to mention the speed boost) and the xp is great for capping... Just my 2 cents!

True, Abaddon has a wide DoT range, however, Timeshift, Frost, and Fireball is more than enough DoT already. Besides, Abbadon is NOT worth the 250 plat.

250 plat isn't worth the one of the highest dmg output pets?

Well scorch is 250 yet his shield is alot better. As instant said, mages already have lots of aoe. With scorch shield its alot easier to survive which means 4 aoe skills

Let's not forget sam's banish ability and his DoT passives. Either way, he bought Scorch, so I'm guessing he's not buying Abaddon anymore.

Abbadon is an awesome Sorc pet if you say otherwise you don't know what your talking about or you haven't leveled it past 30. Since when can you have enough dot dmg? The more damage the better. I solo every elite map in game except Inan and I use Abbadon for every map.

Solo every elite map? I wouldnt think so without spending tons potions. + the shield of sorch is pretty great as well as his stats...

Lol? Who do you think you are? I believe I stated that my posts are from my personal perspectives, if you have a different opinion, that's cool. Runescape asked for help, and I am merely doing what I can, please don't cry about other people's opinion thank you very much.
