1. Do you have to register your pvp toon to get on the leader boards? Or just get enough kills to be on the leader board?

2. How can you tell or when do you know when a new PVP season begins.

Just get the minimum requirements to be in the leaderboard (LB), and your name will show up after it is updated. Also, new seasons don't occur too often so when they do, you will know(;
