I an debating if I should switch to Mage for endgame PvE Elites. Currently I play a endgame rogue, Mage seems cool with the crowd control and sheild but I don't want to be more squishy then I already am as a rogue due to less armour.
Any thoughts?

Both are strong or weak depending on your setup. Play the one you enjoy the most. Mages are not easy but I personally find rogues to be dull.
well on the bright side, in the current state of end-game elites you wont be much less squishy as a mage coming from a rogue. My rogue and mage get one-shotted all the same . You should have 3.5kHP+/1k armor minimum but its not armor nor HP that will keep you alive as a mage in end-game in my opinion. You'll need to get used to using a mage's skills properly, the particular map and mobs, when to time certain skills, when to kite, mechanics of playing with a gun vs a staff, etc. etc. Little quirks you'll learn like running into the middle of a mob to a drop a clock without first activating the shield's invulnerability will probably get you killed.
I play all 3 classes and started out as a warrior at the end of S1 and by far mage is the most fun for me. The huge and frequent red numbers and the ability to shut down mobs gives me a sense of joy that no other class can match.
