Gun for PvP

So, I've made a lil smurf and I'm all 'bout running that elite ASAP.
Do I buy gun or staff?
I used to play rouge so I'm all about the not-having-to-aim with the gun, but isn't the staff overall better?

A friend of mine told me he'd use staff for PvE..

If you got the gold, get the mythic gun. The gun for pvp, staff for pve is just a broad generalization and usually said by people who don't really know what they're talking about... Get the gun

I normally decide what weapon I use by which proc I want at the time. Magma for stunning, expedition for mob damage, architect for mana heal, nordr for slowing enemies, etc.
