Gambling is gambling, whether it is in a game, on the lottery or in a Casino. To expect a return while gambling is silly.

Does sts have a license for gambling and is there an age limit to play this game? I don't think so and you should get a return on your money. Raising the lowest gold amount to 15k would be a good start.

I read your post and agree that would improve things drastically. If the game was set up properly you should be able to pug all day in elite maps. Currently they are dead and its an obvious indication that the game is broken. Question is does sts really care about it?

Got a Hammerjaw on 4 locks. It's luck man. In the next 70, I looted 5 mythic armors. Last year. How about farming for gear, and working for it? Since you quit, you couldn't do that. Money doesn't come easily.

Raising it to 15k would be a nightmare. So much gold would be circulating through the market, it'd be like plat farmers again. Also, if I get gold every time for 3 locks, which cost normally 18k (not right now). 15k*3*3=135k since you get 3 2k golds normally when you open locks. People wouldn't care about arcanes.

Well, i appreciate all the input both good and bad. I have resigned myself to take some of the advice seen here and be happy with it. Ill not buy anymore platinum and just farm lockeds and sell them.

This game looks good but the monetary elements are completely trash! Its an MMO with a casino slots machine feature and unfortunately its the way to get ahead in this game and have all the goodies.

You should always ask "Is this tiny pixel worth it?", in my opinion, it is absolutely not worth it especially how limited this game is, how redone/reused a lot of items are and how everything is always being changed (buffs/nerfs) this company does not deserve any money. They can't do things right the first time and are always, always screwing up everyone's fun.

Yes they have to make money but not like this. I don't support this kind of business, I'll play it cause its free and it is a good game to mess around in/ meet new friends but no way an I even dumping a single cent. My wallet is closed.

Smart choices. Unfortunately, this is how the game is set up. It's kinda sad people have to go through the feeling of "emptiness" (like when you lose your money in a casino) to cure yourself of ever gambling on a lock again.

I wouldn't call it entitlement Serancha. It's the player wants to get something good in return which is totally understandable. And the most annoying thing in crates (other than 2k gold), are these crappy legendary items. Worth practically nothing, but they always seem to come in my locks.

Why did they have to make this game so much different from pocket legends? I played PL pvp at the lvl 66 cap and it was a very enjoyable experience. In PL all the best endgame gear comes from boss drops so the only way to earn them is FARMING. Now where this game went wrong is that the way to "earn" endgame gear is by GAMBLING. Sure you can get the best gear in arcane legends by farming but the difference is that in Pocket legends i was able to get a full set of the best endgame gear through 2 months of farming whenever i could. And that was only to buy 4 items. Playing as often as i did back then, i could maybe get an elon bow in 2 months of farming in this game. And to even be able to farm it is a huge gold drain and you need some of the good gear already to be able to even run elites where as in pocket legends i was using items that were for lvl 60s. And wtf are these ankhs? In pocket legends mages could just revive you. Simple. Perfect example of how sts has drifted far far away from free to play. The one reason pocket legends endgame was so fun for me and endgame in arcane legends just isn't, pocket legends was TRULY FREE TO PLAY. This game however, completely different. Sts has become a company of money-hungry hogs trying to suck every cent they can out of their community. This is why i have resorted myself to twink lvls because i can still have that enjoyable pvp experience without spending hundreds of dollars. Like allocate said, my wallet is closed.

I have had an account with spacetime for nearly 2 years. Played for a few months..saved up about 75 locked..bought the platinum..opened and voila..nothing!! Leave game for oh nearly a year..come back and once again have opened nearly 75 more locked half of which were opened on the 2x weekend that ends today and you can guess the results...NOTHING!! Spacetime im tired of grinding your game and spending money when i cant get even a mythic or arcane...you oughta quit treating ppl like this! Im not rich ingame and dont really wanna be but would like a reason to stay and play. I have a few friends there that keep me playing but get your crap together and treat the ppl who support you a lil better!

So yeah many of you will read this and say oh quit griping..but im sure you have felt this way at some point..all the way up to when u finally got your mythic or arcane so dont be a hypocrite!!

I'm going to have to agree with him. "2x chance to win" still has the same odds as previously. A fellow poster on here mentioned he wasted 800 plats. That's a lot. Who knows when double platinum offers will roll around again on trial pay. All I know is I myself ended up with one mythic useful for my rogue after 150 crates open during this promotion. Every choice has a consequence and every choice has a reward. I stopped buying crates altogether but investing in egg purchases to stock them up on the auction after the limited time only fades away, they will be sky rocketed.

There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism. Welcome to gaming industry of gamer rant, expect players to speak up. Hype advertisement seems to be ... indulging a lot of players lately in the marketing industry.

it's just a matter of perseverance. i may not have the best gear in this game but i think i have a decent one to survive. i'm full mythic (with lvl 41 weapon..got my helm, armor, blood and fang during the level 31 cap and they were more expensive back then, and yes i also got a mythic bow during that time), has 3 mythic pets, and i have a steel commando set as a vanity. i got all of these without spending a single penny on this game. i just farm and it always gives me pride to say "i worked hard for all of these". right now i'm working to get the new mythic amulet and hopefully an arcane pet. based on stories, observations and personal experience, there are only 2 ways to get ahead of this game...be a big spender, or be a hard worker. hope this will inspire and help you somehow

All of a sudden anything to do with winning stuff via real money based upon chance was taken out a.s.a.p. The law may have changed since then, but I know for sure 12 year olds are not allowed to gamble and thus people calling opening locks a gambling game could be putting STS in jeopardy. Under 18's play this game, I know this as I received an infraction due to my adult humour and an excerpt was quoted saying something about 12 year olds plus playing the game.

And yes these kids do open locked crates at 15 plat a pop, with either pocket money, iTunes vouchers or daddy's credit card. Hence opening lockeds cannot be classified as gambling.

You are correct, in that online gambling is age restricted (and in most cases prohibited) in the US.

However, with Platinum as a layer of abstraction between real currency and virtual, and with the return being completely virtual (non-convertible), this doesn't qualify as Gambling per the law.

However, I call a spade a spade. You don't open a Locked Crate to get 6k, you open to get an Arcane or Mythic, thereby gambling on the contents. Legally, I know this practice is common and legit; however, in practice, I am not a fan. I would much prefer a subscription based game instead of indirect gambling.
