Basically, after respawn, you have 100% immunity until you attack (either auto or skill) or leave the spawn area (to avoid immunity while grabbing a flag), at which point, your immunity drops and you become vulnerable. That way, if you are about to be ganged, simply don't do anything, other than leave.
Unfortunately, this doesn't do anything to fix the spot blocking. The only way to correct that is to randomize the teams.
