well i do hope it comes out today! even though i wont be able to play it coz its midnight here right now and i have work at 12 noon until 10pm

but i have a day off the next day which is a bonus to catch up atleast

It's not the dev's decision. The devs submitted 1.7 to Apple. Now it's up to Apple when they want to release it.

The Devs cannot give you an exact release date. They more than likely told everyone this week because they got confirmation from Apple that their update got approved to be released some time this week.

my guess is they're still fine tuning the new maps, or sent the 'we're ready now, apple please bring it on' this morning.

I think it's been approved, they just decided to hold it until this week so they'd have a full staff ready in case anything needs to be fixed.

All I know is that I am maybe 1-2 hours ahead of their time, and I knew thy where not going to release it at 5am, more around noon. About the time I'm home

Yes it is the devs' decision. Apple changed the approval process last year so that apps are approved and then can be released when the developer specifies. STS would put in a time and date and it goes live then. I'm in the iOS developer program, so not just speculation.

Apple already approved it, devs just need to make last checks on the patch segments.
